Confo Shows: Energy bar makeover
under review
Lunameyza
To me the new energy bar on the confo shows is just not it, it looks unnecessary long and thin and when I first saw the energy icon (which is not needed anyways, as it literally says 'energy' in the bar itself) I thought it was a broken image icon xD Overall, it kind of gives me a 'html without css' vibe. I know it's also because I'm used to the old energy bar, but to me that one looked a lot better so I would say, keep the old one.
But this is just personal preference, do voice your own opinion in the comments, maybe most players strongly disagree with me or want an even different look than the updated and the old one?

I agree.Take away the energy icon (or,take away the bar,keep the icon+ energy numbers).If energybar is kept,shorten it. And the white halters are kind of impossible to see on the grey blob thing.
(I know these changes won't be put in at release date, but hopefully one day it can be improved!)
A tip: take away the blob behind the halter,and create sithe mplified icon for halter and tack. That way there will be no issue of one halter/bridle/something else be visible against only against light background, and the other tack visible only against dark.

Seeing the number of bugs we found vs. how much dev time we have, I think we won't have the opportunity to make the changes requested in here right away. Nontheless this is great feedback and I agree to almost all of your points. I hope we can make these adjustments later on.
One thing though - the grey backdrop for halters is grey because we have white & black halters on either blue or white background in the line. Grey worked best to not make any of the halters disappear. But I also don't particularly like how the blob looks.

Sparrowhawk: Maybe it will help:
the code I use to make Energy bar taller and text bigger
.responsive-table .progress-bars .progress {
padding-right: 5px;
height: 30px!important;
}
.responsive-table .progress-bars .progress .progress-text {
font-size: 13px;
font-weight: 500;
padding-top: 4px!important;
}
.energy-icon {
padding-top: 4px!important;
height: 22px!important;
}

Tirion: Thank you :) But unfortunately, it's not as easy as that. The problem is internal task pipeline logic problems. I can't go into detail, but the short version is, we can only make changes like that in a "new" update, not this one, because it wasn't agreed on previously by our dev company.
This is the sort of thing that will change once we have an in-house dev, then we are not bound to these rules anymore.

Sparrowhawk: I work in the same industry, so I know that working with third parties can be hard. Wish luck with finding your own developer so he can make site look even better.
As a side note for update: I would suggest making a small note that some design choices are not final and would be improved (if such note is not already planned).

Changes
- higher contrast image for halter
- increased height for energy bar and font size
- lowered width of the energy bar
- made horse rows a bit thinner

Tirion: I still prefer simplistic tack icons rather than a sphere with the exact imagine of the tack in it, and I think the energy icon is unnecessary, or the word 'energy' is, but this does look like a big improvement already!

Lunameyza: circle was left to match current look of competition page, and strangely I don't hate it as I can looks for the presence of the halter just by having it is the row. I agree about word 'Energy' could be only %, but numeric value is absolutely must have.
One thing though is missing: individual enter button
--Equestrian--
Also has this border thing going on that only shows up in the white areas that's a little weird... if it were a darker border on both, sure, but otherwise looks awkward.

I agree, the energy bar looks fine on competitions because it's stacked with 2 other bars, but by itself it looks odd, especially with it being jammed right next to the table border.
